International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China), China's largest IC and semiconductor design event is scheduled to be held at the Century City New International Convention & Exposition Center on Feb. 28 and 29. Chengdu High-tech Zone signed a co-operation agreement with Global Sources yesterday afternoon.

Mark A. Saunderson, president of Global Sources' Electronics Business Unit, said: "Through this platform, domestic companies will be able to meet face-to-face with top international IC companies, and next month, Chengdu will become the focus of the international electronics industry."

"Every year, IIC-China attracts a great number of design engineers, technology managers and sourcing managers to visit." said Fu Xuequn, the deputy director of the Management Committee of Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone. He believed that this is an excellent opportunity for Chengdu. It provides people from the IC industry in Chengdu with an interactive platform to exchange, understand and master the world’s leading technology.

According to sources, eight of the world's top ten semiconductor companies including Intel, Freescale Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, Renesas Technology, Samsung, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Toshiba are scheduled to exhibit at the IIC-China this year. Apart from Chengdu, the 2008 IIC-China is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai.
