International IC-China Conference & Exhibition to be Held in Chengdu Next Month
Chengdu Daily, Jan 10, 2008
International IC-China Conference & Exhibition, China's largest IC and semiconductor design event, is scheduled to be held next month in Chengdu, a city known as "the third pole" of China’s IC industry. A partnership signing ceremony was held yesterday between Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone and Global Sources. It was reported that the well-recognized IIC-China is an event to exchange industry information and technology and to showcase latest products. "Chengdu's event will be the top one!" a source responsible for the exhibition told our reporter. The IC design event to be held in this year will have more than 400 leading high-tech suppliers showcasing their latest IC designs and technologies. There will be over 1,300 booths, a growth of 30% compared to 2007. The exhibition has also attracted eight of the world's top ten semiconductor companies, including Intel, Freescale, Samsung, Toshiba, Texas Instruments, as well as other big-name companies like NEC, MIPS, ON Semiconductor and Maxim to exhibit. Mark A. Saunderson, president of Global Sources' Electronics Business Unit, said:"The increasing importance and influence of West China's electronics industry, particularly in Chengdu, makes it the ideal location in which to expand IIC-China – which is already China's largest IC design event." |
